To hear a string, click on the controller next to its letter, or number if you know them by number. If you don’t know which is which: E, or the 6th string, is the fattest string on the guitar.
Once you select a string with your mouse, you can start, stop or restart playback using your space bar—that is sometimes easier than reaching for the mouse.
The biggest problem people make is tuning an octave too high. You will break strings doing that and its not good for your guitar either. I have even see people with electronic tuners go an octave too high. Listen carefully.
